The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community’s “CANA” (married groups) held their Christmas Party at The Lord’s Flock (TLF) Events Place last December 15, 2024. It was an afternoon of praise, fellowship, games and an inspirational teaching from TLF Elder-Founder Sis. Techie “Soar” Rodriguez.
The emcees, Millet Lansangan and Jane Lico warmly welcomed all the married members of the Community to their last get-together for the year. Ronald Tapia of (Psalm Ministry) led the praise songs and reminded everyone that amidst all the revelry, Christmas is a celebration of Jesus’ birth. On the other hand, Lea Tapispisan and Elvie Tapia (Pastor Ministry) shared their Christmas greetings.
Games
Jong Gaviola (Small Group Leader) was game master and had everyone enjoying and laughing with his creative games.
A contest on the Best Costume had six finalists; the awards were won by Eric & Joy Uy who wore Christmas/Santa Claus outfits.
Entertainment
The previous year’s “Tunog-tao” winning group performed an impromptu song number which delighted everyone. By popular demand, the Execom team enthusiastically performed their APT dance number from the Christmas Rally.
Birthday and Anniversary Celebrations
The couples who are celebrating their wedding anniversaries in December as well as the members who are celebrating their birthdays in December were feted with a cake and a special video presentation.
All the attendees were delighted when Soar arrived and greeted everyone; many groups had photos taken with her.
Soar’s Inspirational Message
Soar gave an inspirational message about the “Song of Mary (the Magnificat)” where Mary speaks of how her soul magnifies the Lord and how God regarded the lowly maidservant and the generations to come as blessed (Luke 1). Soar also reiterated that they are specifically chosen by God to be His temple (Galatians 20). Thus, by living a life with Jesus, they are highly favored.
She was presented with a Christmas present by the Jong on behalf of the Married Small Groups.
Exchange Gift
Finally, what’s a Christmas party without an “exchange gift?” The participants formed a long circle and played a game of passing the gifts to the right or to the left until the game master concluded the game. The gift that stopped with each one became their gift.
Truly, Christmas is a season of camaraderie, giving praise for God’s blessings and sharing the joy of the nativity.
To God be the glory!
