The Annual International Retreat of The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community was held at the Hampton Inn Tropicana, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on November 9 & 10. There were one hundred eighty-three (183) attendees who came from the different chapters of The Lord’s Flock (TLF) worldwide. Sis. Techie Rodriguez, TLF Elder & Founder, shared the inspiration for this year’s retreat theme – “Walk With You.”
Prior to the start of the retreat, Sis. Techie led the Anointing of the leaders and workers.
The Retreat started with a Bible Enthronement, followed by the parade of banners of the Lord’s Flock (TLF) Chapters. The Praise and Worship, which was led by Derek Santiago, enabled the participants to feel God’s powerful presence and anointing, from the onset of the retreat.
Sis. Techie, the Retreat Master, gave three talks on the first day: (1) In Relationship, (2) I Wanna Hear You Speak, and (3) I Wanna Hold Your Hand.
I. IN RELATIONSHIP
God delights for His people to know Him “You shall be my people, and I will be your God” (Jeremiah 30: 22). To have a close personal relationship with God, they must: (1) know and study His Word and (2) trust Him completely. Knowing and trusting God is a relationship of love and the identification as children of God. As St. Paul said in Gal. 4: 6-7, “As proof that you are children, God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, ‘Abba, Father!’ So you are no longer a slave but a child, and if a child then also an heir, through God.”
II. I WANNA HEAR YOU SPEAK
In 1 Samuel 3: 1-10, the Lord called to Samuel three times, but Samuel did not recognize the voice of the Lord. He was not familiar yet with the voice of the Lord.
God wants to speak to His children. Therefore, they must develop a sensitivity to His still voice. In John 10: 27, Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice.”
III. I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND
The mighty hand of God is upon His children. They are the workmanship of God Himself, created in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1: 27). The uniting hand of God brings people together for worship, service and fellowships (Psalm 133: 1).
After each of the topics, the participants were clustered into small groups to discuss the lessons and share their insights.
The first day of the Retreat ended with a prayer led by Sis. Techie. The participants looked forward to another spirit-filled Retreat the following day.
To God be the glory!
