After a successful mission in Daly City, Sis. Techie Rodriguez (The Lord’s Flock Elder-Founder), Bro. Froilan Hong (Co-Founder) along with Mission Team from Manila, Sis. Judith Almendrala, Bro. Jess, Sis Jo & Bro.Jomel Advincula travelled for two (2) hours to Sacramento with Bro. Derick Santiago (Sacramento Chapter Steward) and other Sacramento Chapter members. Upon arrival, Sis Techie was overjoyed with the excited welcome of the leaders and members who showered her with love and flowers. The Mission team spent two days with the Sacramento Chapter for the Spirit Empowerment Seminar (SES) on June 11 and Fellowship Day on June 12.
On June 11 (Sunday), St. Joseph Church in Elk Grove was abuzz with LF members and invitees eagerly waiting for the start of the Spirit Empowerment Seminar. Bro. Derick Santiago and the Psalm Ministry promptly started with joyful praise and worship.
Then, Sis. Rosette Agustin introduced the Lord’s Flock Community and Sis Techie via audio video presentation. Sis Techie welcomed everyone and during the introduction, she was amazed to meet some “cancer survivor classmates,” Sis Vicky Watson and Sis Evelyn, as all three of them are living miracles of the Lord. In addition, some of the participants who have been attending the Chapter’s weekly Bible teachings were eager to become full-pledged members after this SES.
Next, Sis. Techie preached to 25 adults (n=9 new) and 10 singles/youth (n=4 new) on The Four Basic Truths based on the Bible: (1) God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life; (2) All have sinned and are separated from God; (3) Jesus is the only way to salvation; and (4) You must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Finally, the Seminar culminated in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Many participants shared their overwhelming reactions: a brother testified that he felt his body trembling, saw bright lights and cried as he prayed for cleansing and forgiveness; a sister shared and appreciated the peace in her heart as she was going through a trying time in her life; a young teenager felt indescribeable peace; another sister who had been serving in their parish, felt refreshed and strengthened. After the intense experience, the Psalm Ministry led the group in rejoicing that Jesus is alive!
On Monday (June 12) was Fellowship Day! Sis. Techie, Bro. Froi enjoyed the high energy of the team as they had fun visiting the California Capitol, the Tower Bridge and shared stories and jokes over lunch at the Old Town. Finally, after a light dinner, the leaders and coordinators had their last meeting with Sis. Techie.
Indeed, the two days provided a much-needed chance for nourishing the spirit as well as renewing relationships after four years of physical separation. Sacramento is on fi-ya!
To God be the Glory!
