PARENTING SEMINAR “Rooted In Truth, Growing in Grace – A Catholic Parenting Workshop on Sex Education and Emotional Well Being”- October 17, 2026

A much-needed seminar for parents, initiated by the Renew Ministry and sponsored by the Small World Household, entitled “Rooted in Truth, Growing in Grace – A Catholic Parenting Workshop on Sex Education and Emotional Well-Being,” was successfully held on October 17, 2026, with 61 Catholic parents in attendance.

The guest speaker, Ms. Meg Murff-Trinidad, an educator, author, and formation advocate, shared insights on how parents can guide their children in understanding the truth about sex and sexuality. She emphasized the importance of building good relationships with our children so that we can openly engage them in age-appropriate conversations while upholding the dignity of the human person and building trust and openness within the family.

In the second part of the seminar, she discussed how parents can recognize common cognitive distortions and gently help their children replace them with healthier and more truthful ways of thinking. With insights from psychology and Christian teachings, the session offered practical ways to help our children develop resilience, hope, and emotional well-being.

The discussions were truly interesting, especially during the Q&A portion, where parents were able to share their own thoughts, experiences, and concerns. Many even expressed their desire to have more seminars on similar topics, as there is still so much for parents to learn.

One important takeaway from the seminar is that the relationship between parents and children is a gift from God that we are called to nurture. There is a reason why our children were entrusted to us. As parents, we continue to learn and grow alongside our children as we guide them through life and teach them about God. Building a loving, trusting, and open relationship with our children is one of the best ways to raise them according to God’s will.

After all, it is not always our children who have something to learn from us. As we raise our children, we also learn so much from them. “We raise our children, but in many ways, they raise us, too.”

To God be the Glory!
