TLF HONGKONG CHAPTER 36TH ANNIVERSARY  CELEBRATION

On February 19, 2026, the 3rd day of the Chinese Lunar New Year, The Lord’s Flock (TLF) community in Hongkong gathered at the Notre Dame Parish Hall to mark its 36th founding anniversary.  It was an utter joy to have all the six (6) chapters (St. Anthony, Notre Dame, Holy Family Saturday, Holy Family Sunday, St. Alfred, and Sts. Peter and Paul) together anew to celebrate this significant event.

A Special Thanksgiving Mass

As a fitting expression of gratitude to God’s goodness, mercy, and faithfulness to the ministry for more than three (3) decades, over a hundred members assembled for a special thanksgiving Mass concelebrated by Fr. William Meng, OMI and Fr. Jun Jacobe, OMI.  The latter, in his homily, accentuated the correlation between the day’s gospel from Luke 9:22-25 and TLF’s 2026 theme “Discipleship”, that is, the way of a true disciple is to renounce oneself and take up one’s own cross.  Moreover, the task of doing so becomes one’s participation in the salvation of the world and in becoming witnesses to all nations.

A Powerful Praise and Worship

After an hour of filling lunch, the time for Praise and Worship ensued led by Sis. Chello Anog, St. Anthony Chapter steward, accompanied by the Psalm Ministry members from the six (6) chapters.  Everyone was engaged in intentional and heartfelt singing that strengthened one’s spirit and deepened intimacy with God.

The Program Proper

Sis. Susan Galon from Holy Family/Choi Hung Saturday Chapter acted as emcee and ably kept the program running on schedule.  The Opening Address was delivered by Sis. Cristine Majhen, Notre Dame Chapter steward, where she warmly welcomed the attendees and conveyed enthusiastic appreciation for their presence.  She likewise honored TLF-Elders-Founders Bro. Bobby Rodriguez and Sis. Techie Rodriguez who planted the first ever international chapter in Hongkong in 1990.

The Parade of Banners immediately followed.  All chapters delightfully paraded their respective banners and the entire exercise created a jubilant atmosphere; cheering crowds, vibrant and festive energy fostered community connection. Subsequently, a short AVP on the history of TLF Hongkong was shown.

      Talent Presentations and Fun Games

Any TLF celebration would not be complete without showcasing the talents of its members.  As usual, the six (6) chapters displayed amazing dancing and singing skills that demonstrated a loving support to the community and for enriching one another through their God-given gifts.  To further foster community building, select fun games were played.  Four (4) different types of competitive group games were introduced and the members readily and enthusiastically responded to the high-energy challenges.  Everyone in the hall was undoubtedly in high spirits; the excitement was palpable as the crowd was cheering on.

The Aaronic Blessing and Community Singing

The gathering formally concluded through a thoughtful exhortation by Sis. Helen Del Mundo, Holy Family/Choi Hung Sunday steward, to quote: “… 36 years of faith, fellowship, and service would not have been possible without God’s grace, as well as the commitment and dedication of everyone.  Go forth, therefore, with much deeper faith and confidence believing that the same God who has sustained TLF HK for 36 years will certainly guide us into the next seasons,” she remarked.  Sis. Helen then requested the other stewards to join her in giving the members and other attendees The Aaronic Blessing, a profound benediction found in Numbers 6:24-26.  The whole day anniversary celebration ended in a euphoric way as everyone gleefully danced while singing “The Lord’s Flock Hongkong Theme Song” and “Growing Together.” Both songs depict what and how it is to be a TLF HK member.

Finally, on this momentous day, TLF-Hongkong celebrated not just a date, but God’s unwavering faithfulness, grace, and guidance that have carried it through 36 years of ministry.

To God be the Glory!!!
