Outreach Program at the Holy Trinity Home for Children March 10, 2024

The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community held a successful outreach program at the Holy Trinity Home for Children located in St. Merry Homes Subdivision, Sauyo, Quezon City last March 10, 2024. It  was a testament to the compassion and dedication of the Community’s Good Samaritan Ministry (GSM), the Mission team, and Touch Ministry. The three Ministries shared common goals and commitments in serving others. They provided spiritual guidance, counseling,  emotional support as well as food donations for the children.

The event began with a heartfelt praise and worship led by Elena Garcia, Steward of GSM which set the spiritual tone for the day. Chie Macatol from the Mission team shared the history of the Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community, its vision, mission, and the founders. Baby Salazar, Steward of GSM, highlighted the purpose and impact of their service.  In attendance also were 27 other Good Samaritan members, 4 other Mission team members (Gilda Obor,  Rose Ceres Tuando, Joy Valde, Lourdes Gerole), and four members from Touch Ministry, led by Anna David Del Barrio.

The  Treasurer of Holy Trinity Home, Liz El, carefully organized  the generous donations from the sponsors, which included 4 kilos Premium Raw Sugar, two 2 liters Palm oil, four big cans of Karne Norte, four big cans of Luncheon Meat, 6 big cans of Ligo sardines, 4 big cans of  Century Tuna.  There were also frozen goods such as 2 kilos pork longganisa, 2 kilos chicken longganisa, 2 kilos Purefoods hotdogs, and cash of 3,000 for vegetables. She gratefully acknowledged that these have truly made a difference in the lives of the children.

(as requested by the Holy Trinity Home, the faces of the children are not shown for their protection)

The children performed “We are the World” which added a touching dimension to the outreach program. In the small group discussions, each child was individually attended to, and received teachings on the value of listening and praying to God, and the importance of obedience. On the other hand, the Touch Ministry conducted a healing session for each child, providing a holistic approach to their well-being.

After the activities, the children were treated to a delightful meal, reflecting the warmth and generosity of the participating ministries and sponsors. The menu added a festive touch to the day, consisting of  spaghetti, chicken, puto, coffee jelly, and juice drinks.

Lastly, the Directress of the Institution, Mother Jovelyn Adcan, expressed gratitude to the Lord’s Flock and hoped for more future connections. She also said that the Community will always be in their prayers.

This event was not just a one-time event but a manifestation of love and on-going commitment. It was not measured in tangible donations, but in the shared moments of joy, compassion, and connection. The Good Samaritan Ministry, Mission team, and Touch Ministry magnified the power of kindness and the importance of support to those in need.

To God be the glory!
