One Day: FUN Day Celebrating 37 Years of the Lord’s Flock Community- April 23, 2023

The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community recently celebrated its 37th Anniversary with the theme One Day: Fun Day on April 23, 2023 from 12nn to 6p.m. at the Heritage Formation Center. It was amply attended by members and guests (F2F and virtual) both local and international. Bro. Bobby Rodriguez who was in Los Angeles also participated in the event.  Indeed, the whole Global Community joyfully celebrated a special Sunday filled with fun, fellowship and immense gratitude for God’s faithfulness in the past and the forthcoming years.

The event started with a Eucharistic celebration presided by our homegrown priest, Fr. JC Gallora and co-celebrated by Fr. Aris Miranda (the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena, Rome).  Right after the mass, the members laughed, sang, and danced their hearts out while they were enjoying the OPM medley  by Sis Judith Almendrala and the PSALM Ministry.

Moreover, the crowd was delighted to see our dear Elder-Founder and Vision Holder, Sis. Techie Rodriguez, with Co-Founder Bro. Froilan Hong who welcomed everyone and presented the Audio-Visual Presentation, a recount of how the Lord worked/moved in the community for the past 37 years. They emotionally reminisced the events of the early years of the Community which tickled the audience to laugh with them.

To continue with the celebration, the attendees excitedly participated in the various games: Family Feud, “Tawag ng Tanggalan”: A Singing Contest, Bingo and “Bawal Judgemental” (via Zoom).   In between the games, the community was serenaded by the angelic voices of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL), Choir of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Nuestra Senora de Perpetua Socorro, who sang Paghahandog sa Sarili, Hallelujah Chorus of Handel’s Messiah, Permission to dance (BTS), and Seasons of Love.

To wrap up the afternoon celebration, the whole community was treated to exquisite and world class dance numbers by the TLF East, New Generation, Koros School of Dance, and the ExeCom. The audience were in awe as they watched the fiesta-themed presentation, a depiction of the Sumakah Festival of Antipolo, followed by a medley of Philippine dances: Karatong, Binasuan, Sayaw sa Bangko, Maglalatik, Pandanggo-Oasioas, and Tinkling. In addition, a number of “blessed” members and guests won appliances and gift items from the grand raffle.

Finally, Sis Techie Rodriguez encouraged the members with the TLF’s inspiring history of triumphs and trials, as she emotionally reminded everyone to persistently instill faith in God and to consistently study His words.

To God be the glory!
