Lord’s Flock 38th Anniversary Celebration April 4 – 7, 2024

The Lord’s Flock (TLF) Catholic Charismatic Community was founded on April 4, 1986 by Elder-Founders, “Tatay” Bobby Rodriguez and Techie “Soar” Rodriguez This was based on a prophetic vision that was revealed to Soar in March, 1986 at the Recoletos Seminary in Quezon City – “save my people, bring them to safety.”  Fast-forward thirty-eight years later, TLF today has been amazingly blessed with a global presence and its very own Heritage Spiritual Formation Center.  The 38th anniversary was joyfully celebrated over three (3) days, April 4, 6 & 7; it started with a thanksgiving mass and was followed by series of activities centered around Mama Mary.

Anniversary Day, April 4, 2024

The celebration kicked-off with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Sanctuary, which was officiated by the esteemed Bishop of Cubao, Bp. Honesto Ongtioco, spiritual adviser to the TLF.  A short honoring program and tokens of appreciation were bestowed on Tatay Bob and Soar.

Thereafter, the members moved to the Heritage Lobby, where Tatay Bob and Soar cut the ribbon to the Faces, Phases, Paces Exhibit. Sis Millet Lansangan and Star Marudo, curator and designer of the Exhibit, respectively, welcomed everyone to the beautiful showcase of the people who have been called to serve, the significant events and milestones throughout the Community’s 38-year journey, and the blessed paraphernalia used by Soar in spreading the virus of faith.”

Lastly, a Dinner-Dance for a Cause was held at the Heritage “Events Place.” This was simultaneously a fund-raising program for the renovation of the TLF Cafeteria, a popular hang-out for many members. Shimmering in royal blue, the band serenaded the Elders, the Execom and the members who were all decked in various shades of blue and denim.  Everyone danced the night away to popular songs from the 60’s to the 80’s.

Mary-Union Tayo, April 6, 2024

A unique feature of the 38th Anniversary Celebration was a reunion of present and past members of the Lord’s Flock, titled “Mary-Union Tayo.”  Sporting TLF yellow, pioneers from the 1980s/1990s up to the present converged at the Heritage to reconnect with Soar, Tatay Bob, Bro. Froi, together with fellow groupmates from Pastoral, Sheepfold and Local Chapter small groups. It was an afternoon of nostalgic merriment, with everyone singing and dancing to old praise songs and bringing back wonderful memories over the years. They all had a “blast from the past” as the previous Young and Singles Adult Ministries sang the songs of yesteryears.

Mary, Merry, Mary Variety Show,  April 7, 2024

The traditional variety show held every anniversary celebration was the culmination of several weeks of practice and preparation. Carlo Marudo and Theresa Almendrala delightfully moderated the afternoon program.

Tatay Bob and Soar led the opening procession followed by the small groups who waved their colorful balloons. Soar reminisced that “the call” to serve the Lord was unstoppable after she attended the renewal seminar. She acknowledged all the members without whom the 38 years of bringing people closer to the Lord would not have been achieved. Finally, she encouraged everyone to help her advocacy to focus on the young people who will be the leaders of the future.

The International Chapters delighted the audience with their creative and energetic performances shown by video.

The excitement was palpable at the Heritage as the performers in colorful costumes entertained the audience with Jesus’ life story told from the perspective of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She is revered on this special occasion because by giving herself to God, she gave life to the world, and many people’s lives have been touched by the way she lived. The story was juxtaposed with the story of the Lord’s Flock Community, when Soar answered the call to devote her life to serving the Lord, and to the members who have become “fishers of men” and carrying the light to the world.

Truly, it was another memorable celebration of God’s everlasting love and blessings to TLF Community. TLF looks forward to the coming years with renewed fervor and more chapter openings. Moreover, the number “38” (by splitting the number “8” gives double 3’s) symbolizes “triple power” which will propel the Lord’s Flock Community to even higher levels of faith, service, and evangelization.

To God be the glory!
