HARVEST CLASS 1-23 “BEAT THE HEAT” FELLOWSHIP APRIL 27, 2024

The Harvest Class 1-23 of The Lord’s Flock (TLF) Catholic Charismatic Community held their first outdoor fellowship last April 27, 2024, in Quezon City, aptly called “Beat the Heat” since there is a heat wave in the Philippines. The fellowship is part of the Harvest Formation Program for its newly commissioned members, and Harvest 1-23 was eager to spend a day outdoors in camaraderie while nourishing their spirits with the Word of God.

The Class is composed of new TLF members who were renewed through the Spirit Empowerment Seminars (December 2021, May and August 2022, and February 2023). They are being trained to be committed to the study of God’s Word and prayer, to foster their continuous spiritual growth, and to become faithful workers of Christ. Together with their Class Pastoral Leaders (PLs), Mel Capistrano, Joy Hipolito, Jocelyn Mortalla,  eleven (11) members and guests arrived enthusiastically at the venue on a beautiful Saturday morning.  Chay Arevalo started the festivities with an opening prayer of thanksgiving and protection, a prayer discipline taught by the community leaders.

During the lunch feast, Mel introduced a game of “servanthood” – each member was assigned to serve a person his/her food which taught them to be sensitive to the needs of others.

Then, off they went to enjoy the refreshing water of the swimming pool. The fun was further heightened by pool games led by Genebeth Advincula.  The players exercised their sportsmanship and teamwork while having delightful fun and laughter!

After the energetic physical activities, Joy Hipolito led the Gospel Reading (John 14:7-14), which was followed by the sharing of the members of their insights. The Class was drawn closer by the blessed sharing and the love and concern for one another.

The Fellowship ended with a Closing Prayer by Elvira Sanchez. Indeed, Harvest Class 1-23 was thankful for a blessed and fun-filled Fellowship.

To GOD be the glory!
