Elder’s  Mission Hong Kong-Part 3: Fellowship Day and Departure Oct 2 – 3, 2023

On the 4th day of the Lord Flock (LF) Mission in Hong Kong, October 2nd, the Chapter leaders arranged a full day fellowship at the Noah’s Ark theme park in Ma Wan Island. This was consistent with Soar’s desire to strengthen relationships with the members of the different chapters and provide the opportunity for them to have casual and/or private conversations with her.

Fun time

The group of ten, led by Christine Majhen, Dolly Sanchez, Lourdes Tuzon, took turns in exuberantly driving Soar and Bro. Froi around the park and main hall in their wheelchairs. The outdoors and the exhibition halls were interesting as there were displays of various “Noah’s arks” elements from around the world. There was also a short film about “the great flood” that amused everyone because of the almost real feeling of the wind and the waves.  The photo-ops were quite playful as this was also a rare occasion for the members to have leisure time and they felt especially blessed to have a precious ‘bonding moment’ with Soar and Bro. Froi.

Lunch Meeting

Lunch time was an opportunity for Soar to have a meeting with the team, and to explain some of the Lord’s Flock organization structure and priorities.  There were some who took the opportunity to consult with Soar about their particular trials and they received her words of advise and guidance.

Evangelization under the Bridge

Interestingly, Soar herself was able to ‘fish’ a lady who was by herself near the main entrance. She has only been in Hong Kong for 3 months.  Thus, she was happy to have been invited to join the group. Towards the end of the afternoon, she tearfully shared her family struggles with Soar,   who in turn led the group in praying for her. Soar encouraged her to attend the Chapter’s Bible Study, praise and worship,  and other activities, so that she will have the support of her sisters in Christ.

In the midst of the storytelling, Soar looked up and realized that they were evangelizing under a bridge, which was over-arching the Noah’s ark theme park. This was a realization of her vision of the previous day when she told the leaders that she can meet with them anywhere ‘maski sa ilalim ng tulay” (under a bridge).”

All the members also did their sharing, specifically about their experiences in  Hong Kong, how they devote their weekends to the church and the Lord Flock activities. They were unanimous in saying that they have been so blessed by the Lord with their long years of service with kind and considerate employers. They thanked Soar and Bro. Froi for giving them this day’s occasion to be close to them.

Rekindle Chant

The day ended joyfully with the performance of the “Rekindle Chant” against the huge Noah’s ark as backdrop. Truly, the fellowship was much appreciated by the LF members and the mission team as well.

Bye-bye Hong Kong

On October 3rd, Soar, Bro. Froi, Sis. Lea and Bro. Mel departed from Hong Kong with a sense of fulfillment and inspired by the heartwarming stories of trials and God’s tremendous blessings of the LF Hong Kong members.

(P.S. bonus- guess who met Soar at the NAIA arrival area?)

To God be the glory!
