Elder’s Joint Birthday Celebration

The month of August is a special heartwarming day for all Lord’s Flock Community members here and abroad. This marks the birthdays of our Elder-Founders, Bro. Bobby (Tatay) Rodriguez on Aug. 10 and Sis Techie (Soar) Rodriguez on Aug.6. Obviously, everyone looks forward to this annual joint birthday celebration. As they celebrated their 78th and 76th birthdays respectively, the entire Community honored and showered them with much love and gratitude for being faithful spiritual parents.

At the Heritage Sanctuary, an afternoon concelebrated mass was officiated by Bishop Ted Bacani and Fr. Bel San Luis, their closest spiritual advisors. Bishop Ted Bacani aptly addressed the TLF members that Tatay and Soar have grown more beautiful with each birthday celebration because they have truly responded to the Lord’s call by signifying a strong faith in Him, demonstrating unending service to the community, and bringing a large number of people closer to Him.

A short but meaningful program was held after the mass. Local and international chapters lovingly greeted Tatay Bob and Soar with their best wishes. They prepared outstanding song and dance presentations, one of which showed Tatay and Soar seemingly dancing the hip hop energetically. At the end of the video, it was later revealed that Dubai Chapter’s Bro. Pat Inong and Sis Aika Villarmino were the dancers wearing the face masks of Tatay and Soar. After the program, everyone moved up to the Events Place for the “Sneakers & Tees” dinner-dance. Bro Raymund Nobleza, Sis Gina Duran and Sis Dinah Sario were the host emcees for the night. A long line of dancers wearing colorful sneakers (Koros Ministry) gracefully danced and welcomed Soar and Tatay Bob to the VIP table. Special guests included Tatay and Soar’s close relatives and friends. After the buffet dinner, everyone enjoyed dancing to the band’s music from the 70’s to the present.

It was indeed a wonderful night to remember and our elders were both happy with the turn-out of the people who showed up to honor them, notwithstanding, the heavy rains throughout the day.

To God be the glory!
