Soar’s 80th Birthday: Thanksgiving Mass and Fellowship Dinner, August 6, 2026

On August 06, The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community celebrated the momentous 80th birthday of one of the community’s Elders-Founders, Sis. Techie “Soar” Rodriguez. Leaders and members of the community gathered in the Sanctuary for the 6 o’clock thanksgiving mass and a fellowship dinner.  It was a joyous birthday celebration of Soar and Tatay Bob who have been instrumental in founding the Lord’s Flock Community and have consistently committed themselves as Elders of the Community through the years.

Thanksgiving Mass

The holy mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Alex Balatbat, of Mary Mother of the Church Parish, Antipolo City. In his homily, Fr.  Alex enthusiastically greeted “Tita Techie” on her birthday. He alluded her to the Gospel of the day, which was about the Transfiguration of Jesus. Her spiritual calling led to her submission to God’s will, bringing transformation in her life, and letting God use her to fulfill the mission entrusted to her.  He also greeted “Tito Bobby” Rodriguez, Elder-Founder, who would also celebrate his 82nd birthday on August 10.

Fr.  Alex emphasized that Tatay Bob and Soar are a blessed couple, one in the eyes of God. He shared the early morning devotion of Soar to the Blessed Sacrament, beginning the day by listening to Jesus. He said Soar and Tatay Bob both listened to Jesus, where listening means loving their enemies, forgiving those who hurt them, and opening their hearts to the Father. He further said that the congregation gathered in honor of a woman of faith who listened to the Father. Like Mama Mary, Soar listened and said yes to the Lord, because she is a living witness that there is a loving God.

Moreover, he blessed the couple at the conclusion of the mass.  The EXECOM and other Ministries lovingly gave bouquets of flowers to the Elders and greeted them with a birthday song.

Fellowship Dinner

Everybody enjoyed the delightful food (pancit, pork barbeque, and caramel cake). Many took their time to have their photos taken with Soar. Lastly, the members were grateful for this milestone in the life of Soar and Tatay Bob , with hope for more great blessings as faithful servants of God.

To God be the Glory!
