The second day of the 3-day Lenten Recollection proved to be a highly successful event, well attended by over 300 Lord’s Flock members and guests who gathered at the Lord’s Flock Heritage Sanctuary on April 2, 2026. The 3-day event centers on the theme, “At The Cross I Am Found,” and serves as an opportune time to pause, reflect and rediscover the depth of God’s love rebuilt through the Cross.
Sis. Marie Regala (Head Steward – Pastor Ministry) served as moderator of the program, addressing the audience with skill and grace.

Bro. Ronald Tapia (Steward – Psalm Ministry), together with the Psalm Ministry (Music) and Koros Dance) members, drew the audience to a spirit of praise and worship through song and dance.

The community’s video primer was presented for the benefit of guests to showcase the community’s organization and major activities, followed by a video presentation of the traditional Lenten celebration.
The Cross, Not Just As a Source of Suffering, But of Hope

In his welcome remarks, Bro. Froilan Hong (Co-Founder) enticed the audience to the message that will unfold in the day’s event, that is the Cross not just as a source of suffering, but of hope, where one can find healing in Jesus’ mercy, strength in His sacrifice and spiritual renewal in His presence. He further urged them to carry within the duration of the event a spirit of faith, hope and openness as well as a deep desire to encounter God in a truly personal and transformative way.
Sharing: CHRIST ON THE CROSS MAKES ALL THINGS NEW

Sis. Regina Uy-Paglinawan (Young Adults Group) shared her personal experience with the cross, recounting how she and her family lived in dire straits while growing up in the province. Her mother was a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her father who was a slave to alcohol and drugs. One particularly violent encounter—one she feared her mother wouldn’t survive—shook her so deeply that it drove her to the brink of ending her life. Thankfully, her youngest sister saw her in the nick of time, prompting her to change her mind.
Months later, she and her siblings were taken to Manila to live with her mother’s relatives, where she had a personal encounter with Christ through the Lord’s Flock Community. She learned that Jesus sees us through our most troubled times (Isaiah 43:2) and has to power to make us new (Revelations 21:5). In time, she learned to forgive and to heal.
Today, she and her siblings are enjoying comfortable lives, with the youngest graduating from college through God’s provisions. Moreover, after 20 years, her parents reconciled and finally tied the knot. She concluded by professing Jesus’ enduring love and urged others going through hopeless situations to never give up and wait on the Lord who never fails.
THE SIX THIEVES OF CALVARY

Lord’s Flock Elder-Founder and Vision-Holder, Sis. Techie Rodriguez, was the first keynote speaker, delving on the topic, “The Six Thieves of Calvary.” She pitched the question, “What side of the cross are you on?” and enumerated the six thieves of Calvary:
- Judas was personally chosen by Jesus (Luke 6), walking closely alongside Him as a follower and friend and appeared trustworthy enough to be assigned as treasurer (John 12:6, 13:29). He could have been possibly driven to betray Jesus out of greed, disillusionment, hypocrisy/pretense, dishonesty or love of money.
- Barrabas was the thief who was replaced by Jesus (Acts 3:14).
- The thief with the hardened heart was one of the two thieves crucified alongside Jesus. His heart is hardened by sin and is like the hard ground in the Parable of the Sower wherein the seeds that fall on it are snatched away immediately by birds.
- The thief who repented at first mocked Jesus together with the other thief. However, something in his heart changed upon hearing Jesus say, “Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:25). He feared God, recognized death was at hand, admitted his sinfulness, and experienced redemption (Luke 23:40-43).
- Satan is the thief of man’s heart. He comes to steal, kill and destroy in cooperation with man’s fallen nature.
- Jesus received the sentence of a thief even though He was not a thief.
Finally, she enlightened the audience to the truth that everyone is also a thief whenever one takes credit for all the gains, in turn stealing the glory away from God (Ephesians 4:28). Likewise, she quoted scriptures on withholding tithes and offerings as an act of robbing God (Mal. 3:8-10), and exhorted everyone to give generously and cheerfully for the works of the Lord.
LEAVE ALL BURDENS AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS

The community was blessed to have Fr. Jerry Orbos (Chairman of the Board of SVD Philippines) once again as second keynote speaker. He invited the audience to leave all pains, sicknesses, sufferings and strife at the foot of the cross of Jesus. He then led everyone to reflect on how one’s own selfishness and pride can be crosses to other people and therefore, to seek God’s grace to change ways. He also related his personal God Encounter Moment (GEM) while boarding a RORO ship that reminded him of the need to make the choices of humility, listening closely to and obeying God’s instructions, and seeking the help of others in order to gain heavenly reward.
In ending, the audience was led to an examination of conscience, reflecting on the ways they might be betraying the Lord and what they are truly willing to surrender to reach heaven. People left the Heritage Sanctuary loaded with spiritual takeaways to grow in the fullness of Christ at the foot of the Cross.
