The second day of the Lenten Recollection of The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community continued April 17, 2025, Maundy Thursday, at the Heritage Center. Two anointed speakers, Techie “Soar” Rodriguez, Elder-Founder of The Lord’s Flock (TLF) and Fr. Jerry Orbos, SVD, a Divine Word Missionary, shared their reflections on the theme “Walk with Jesus.”
Dinky Florentino, a Trustee of The Lord’s Flock Foundation moderated the program. Judith Almendrala (Steward, Elder’s Mission) and the Psalm Ministry led the congregation in praise and worship and opening prayer. Thereafter, Grace Lomarda (Council of Advisers) gave the welcome remarks and acknowledged those who were watching on Facebook and You Tube. She invited everyone to reflect on the passion of Jesus and His impact on their spiritual journey.
“Walking with Jesus requires a choice”
Techie “Soar” Rodriguez delivered a powerful teaching on what walking with Jesus entails:
- It requires a choice
- It begins with the first step (salvation).
- It means to walk in the same way as Jesus and in His direction.
- It means knowing Him by spending time with Him.
- It requires living a life of obedience.
Subsequently, Roselyn Baclig (Service Ministry Head Steward) shared her journey of walking with Jesus. She felt God’s presence during her battle over cancer which occurred shortly after the death of her husband. She thanked God for healing her and for providing everything she needed for her treatment. Hence, she committed that she would continue serving the Lord and testify to His goodness.
“Walk with Jesus to heaven”
Fr. Jerry Orbos, SVD, linked the theme “Walk with Jesus” with the Jubilee 2025 theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” He started with a prayer and encouraged everyone to feel God’s embrace and entrust everything to Him. A witty priest, he shared humorous insights and ideas about our relationship with God and with other people. He emphasized that as pilgrims of hope, we must “Keep walking. Walk together. Walk with joy.” Holding on to faith and joy will give us peace. It is important to use the time that God gives us:
- Reparation – time to make up for our sins
- Intercession – time to pray for other people
- Purification – time to purify ourselves of bad habits/material things
He concluded that as we walk with Jesus, the destination is heaven, where the Lord reigns forever.
Finally, “Soar” concluded with an exhortation. She shared how the Community’s faith in the goodness of God built the Heritage Building; she encouraged the attendees who have been blessed to share their blessings for the construction of the Chapel in the top floor. Indeed, the assembly left with spirit-filled hearts, full of hope and trust in the Lord.
To God be the glory!
