On February 15, 2025, members of the Lord’s Flock New Generation celebrated the launch party for what could be one of the biggest developments for Christian teens — the Alpha Youth Series.
The Alpha Youth Series is a UK-based program designed to help young people explore faith, purpose, and life’s deeper meanings by creating a space for open and honest conversations about key Christian concepts. Lord’s Flock decided to adopt the program to encourage and inspire the growing New Generation group of the community to reinforce their relationship with Jesus.
Right after the praise and worship on February 15, New Gen members were treated to a change of environment and a light dinner in the Ministry Floor of the Lord’s Flock Heritage building. Following a few icebreakers and introductions, participants broke up into groups; each group was facilitated by an “Ate” or “Kuya” from the community. Everyone then settled down to watch the first video of the Alpha Youth series.
Besides amusing visuals and relatable testimonies, the first Alpha Youth video also provided the New Generation with moments to pause and reflect on questions ranging from “What makes you happy?” to “If God exists, what would you ask Him?” The Ministry Floor’s homey and intimate atmosphere proved conducive to these thought-provoking conversations, and, with some help from the facilitators, members of New Gen were able to share and speak freely within their groups.
The night ended with a closing prayer led by New Gen stewards, Daphne Tapia and Bea Baclig. A total of 26 participants attended the Alpha Youth launch party — 18 current members of New Gen, 4 guests from Tulay Ng Kabataan, and 4 personal guests. Daphne and Bea hope to see the number of participants grow as the Alpha Youth Series goes through 8 more weeks.
Through the Alpha Youth Series, Lord’s Flock hopes to empower the young people in the community to continue growing in their spirituality, seek a deeper relationship with God the Father, and explore their boundless potential to become leaders and paragons of faith. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
To God be the glory!
