TLF Cebu Chapter: Spirit Empowerment Seminar -June 23, 2024 (Elder’s Mission, Part 2)

Sis. Techie ‘Soar’ Rodriguez, Elder-Founder of The Lord’s Flock (TLF) Catholic Charismatic Community, conducted a successful Spirit Empowerment Seminar (SES) as part of her Cebu Mission from June 21 to 24, 2024. The SES was held at the auditorium of San Carlos Major Seminary on June 23, 2024.   As Soar aptly described it, this Seminar was spirit-inspired and also showcased God’s testing of the faithfulness of the TLF CEBU Chapter leaders and members. The Holy Spirit vividly manifested His  guidance and awesome power.

Inspiration from the Holy Spirit

Through  the prompting of the Holy Spirit,  Soar informed the leaders of  TLF Cebu Chapter on the first week of June,  that she will be visiting their chapter to conduct the “Facing 2024” ceremony and the SES.  There were surprised reactions from the leaders and members of the Cebu Chapter as they were not prepared financially, logistically and spiritually.  They were scheduled to hold the SES in September 2024. However, SEND Steward, Allan Almendrala insisted that the instruction was clear, “let us just follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit to Soar.”  Thus, TLF Cebu, led by Steward Eric Alcantara, immediately manifested obedience and submission. They  mustered all their efforts, and started sending invitations through formal letters to various offices, word-of-mouth and even did radio broadcasts.

Obedience leads to Miracles

The Intercessory Ministry prayed unceasingly to seek the guidance of the Almighty. With barely two weeks to the SES date, there were only a few confirmations of attendance.  But, miracles were starting to happen. Some members poured in their financial contributions, which included funds from the chapters abroad. A week before the SES, good things started to come to fruition.  More attendees were sending their confirmations. Most importantly,  even former members of the TLF Cebu Chapter who had been silent/absent for quite some time, became visible and offered their services.

The Spirit Empowerment Seminar, June 23, 2024

The TLF Cebu Chapter, who had just completed their Facing2024 ceremony,  immediately started working early morning of June 23rd. As early as 6:30am, the Intercessory Ministry, Psalm Ministry, and the other Ministries of the Cebu Chapter were already at the San Carlos Major Seminary; they were joined by  Jess Advincula, Steward of Sower Ministry. They meticulously set up the auditorium, the technical equipment and the registration requirements.  By 7:30am, the guests started to arrive. Young people, singles, married couples and some personnel from the Coast Guard signed in.  The Lord sent a total of 105 seekers to the amazement of the Cebu Chapter: youth group (40), singles (36) and married group (29). In addition, there were 30 LF members and workers who were also eager to hear Soar’s teachings.

Soar arrived together with Bro. Froilan Hong (Co-Founder), Rene and Maro Anyog (SEND and EQUIP Ministry Stewards),  Allan and Judith Almendrala (SEND and SERVE Ministry Head Stewards), and Dinah Alcantara (Special Events Steward) to welcome the participants and formally start the SES.

The full day seminar was moderated by Jess Advincula, who also shared a brief testimony. He introduced Soar, who inspired the congregation with the SES topics: The Four Basic Truths, Salvation, Transformation, New Life and Baptism.

The Cebu Chapter provided lunch and snacks for everyone. An unusual intermission number was performed by a singing group called “Travel Buskers” composed of six (6) young men; Soar met them at the previous day’s dinner venue and invited them to the SES. Their performance provided a delightful treat for the guests.

The Seminar was paused at 5pm to give way to the Eucharistic Mass, which was celebrated by Fr. Mark. Thereafter, Soar resumed and ministered the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Some participants shared their heartfelt    testimonies on how the Holy Spirit manifested in them during the ceremony.

The seminar ended at 9pm; it was a long but spirit-filled day. Indeed, the entire Elder’s Mission was a testament to God’s power, demonstrating that “the Lord added to their numbers those who are being saved” (Acts 2:47).

To God be the glory!
