TLF BAMBAN CHAPTER: FIRST INTER-COMMUNITY SPORTSFEST August 3, 2024

On August 3, 2024, The Lord’s Flock Charismatic Community Bamban Chapter held its first inter-community sportsfest at the Sacot Gymnasium. It featured games that strengthened camaraderie and bonding among members while praising God. The sportsfest aimed to bring together various communities for a day of sports and fellowship.

THE PREPARATION

With the leadership of veteran community members, the first inter-community sportsfest was successfully organized. Preparations for the event spanned several days. It began with brainstorming sessions to determine the games, the teams and the prizes for the winners. Throughout the preparation process, they prayed for the Holy Spirit’s guidance to ensure everything went smoothly.

THE SPORTSFEST DAY

Even amidst the power outage on the day of the sportsfest, the event was successful due to the efforts of the hard-working community members and the Holy Father – “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

The event began with a praise and worship session. It was followed by a Zumba warm-up. The four teams (red, blue, yellow, and green) and their captains were announced the day before.  They were energized with their respective team chants.

The first game was volleyball. The yellow team showed their fierceness and scored the highest points. Next was the “Shake and Scoop” game, where players had to shake a jug filled with ping pong balls and then scoop them back into the jug from a tub of water. The green team won this round with their technique and swiftness. In the basketball game, the blue team exhibited persistence and determination, and thus, emerged with the highest points.

After tallying the points, the green team was declared the champion, followed by the blue team as first runner-up, the yellow team as second runner-up, and the red team as third runner-up. Three MVPs were recognized at the end of the sportsfest.

A closing prayer concluded the day. The youth were energized while they also honored God.

 To God be the glory!
