The Lords Flock Catholic Charismatic Community conducted an Outreach Program at the Caloocan City Jail in Talimusak, Kaunlaran Village, Caloocan, Metro Manila last November 15, 2024 (Friday). Only ten participants were allowed to enter the vicinity of the Caloocan City Jail: eight (8) members of Good Samaritan Ministry (GSM), one (1) from Mission Ministry and one (1) from Healing Ministry. Before entering the premises, the bags were placed at the counter since they were not allowed inside along with personal gadgets. The participants were assisted by the Development Officer JO1 Joebhyl A. Seballos. The Lords Flock’s (TLF) outreach program sought to bring an impact to the PDLs in answer to the call “to serve Jesus, see Jesus” in the lives of the marginalized.
The Program Proper
The opening prayer and joyful songs were led by GSM Steward Elena Garcia, accompanied on the guitar by Sonny Maglaque and Samuel Alicante. Fifty (50) Persons Denied of Liberty (PDL) who serve the chapel of Caloocan City Jail joined the singing and dancing since they were familiar with the songs. Joy Valde of Mission Judea delivered a short message regarding the mission to spread the words of Gods’ love. She spoke of Matthew 25:36 “I was naked, and you clothed Me, I was sick, and you looked after Me, I was in prison, and you visited Me.” She shared the thoughts of freedom to praise and worship even while prison and reminded them that they are not alone nor forgotten. The Closing Prayer was led by Ronnie Ongteco of the Touch Ministry with healing prayers for the PDL, reminding them that God heals the sinners and brings hope to each one. He mentioned Psalm 65, which testifies to God’s awesome power and His willingness to hear everyone and forgive their sins.
Distribution of Food and Hygiene Packs
Funds for food and hygiene packs were sponsored by the GSM, Mission Judea, a TLF Member from London, and an anonymous sponsor. The donations covered the preparation of 150 packs of food and 150 hygiene packs. The distribution was done by batches: first for the 50+ who serve in the chapel, the second batch of 50+ to those who work in livelihood and maintenance programs and the last batch to the PDL who study through the Alternative Learning System (ALS). Distribution of packed items was done by Steward Elena Garcia assisted by JO 1 Joebhyl A, Seballos.
Closing and a Prayer of Healing
Ronnie Ongteco led the healing prayer to comfort them in their difficult plight. There is hope for them as visualized on their yellow shirts, “Changing Lives, Building a Safer Nation.”
A Fulfillment of Sharing God’s Love
As Matthew 25:40 says, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did For Me.’ The outreach program truly blessed both the volunteers and the PDL’s particularly during the season of anticipation of Jesus’ birth.
To God be the glory!
