On March 8, the Kingdom Works Ministry (KWM) members under the Mission Ministry of the Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community (TLFCC), headed by their stewards, Sis. Baby Salazar and Sis. Peewee Sarte conducted their very first outreach activity for 2026 at the Hospicio de San Jose in San Miguel, Manila from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This eventful outreach activity was highlighted with various activities that brought immense happiness to the Hospicio de San Jose elderly residents and beneficiaries as well as to KWM workers and volunteers.
Hospicio de San Jose is the oldest charitable welfare institution in the Philippines. Inspired by their advocacy and commitment to Vincentian, family-oriented, collaborative, holistic, innovative, and spiritually rooted service, Hospicio de San Jose has created an environment of care within this island sanctuary that respects the human dignity of those marginalized by society. They provide both residential and non-residential services and programs on Crisis Intervention (Sanctuary), Child and Youth Welfare Development Program, Crisis Intervention Program (Tahan), Program for Older Persons, Crisis Intervention (Food for Life), and Program for Persons with Special Needs. At present, one hundred forty-one (141) residents are being provided overall care and support at Hospicio de San Jose.
Moreover, Sr. Martha Gamola serves as the Administrator of the institution and is supported by seven (7) staff members and caregivers.
Specifically, their elderly residents and the beneficiaries of the outreach event are abandoned individuals endorsed by DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) and LGUs (Local Government Units), and forsaken lolos (grandfathers) and lolas (grandmothers) referred by their relatives who are financially incapable of providing their needs. The residents were received by the aged care facility after conduct of family visits and verification with the respective barangay.
Before their departure from the Heritage Sanctuary, the group of workers and volunteers recited the Binding Prayer, led by KWM Steward Sis. Baby Salazar.

The integrated outreach activity brought together a total of forty‑one (41) outreach workers, including four (4) volunteers from the Healing Ministry, sixteen (16) volunteers from the Mission Ministry Local Chapter (MWSS, LWUA, and TLF East Hub), nineteen (19) KWM members, and one (1) member from the Heralds Ministry. MWSS and LWUA also served as sponsors, providing ₱5,000 for transportation and meals, along with donations in kind such as one (1) sack of rice, eggs, bath soaps, powdered milk, biscuits, oatmeal and a rice cooker. All donations were properly documented, endorsed, and received by Mr. Mark Anthony Monte (Administration Assistant).

In addition, thirty-two (32) on-the-job-training (OJT) nursing affiliates from Concepcion Holy Cross College (Tarlac) participated in the activities and assisted in feeding the resident-beneficiaries.

Sis. Elena Garcia (KWM) ably served as the moderator, delivering the Welcome Remarks and leading the Joyful Songs. Sis. Menzi Macatol (Heralds Ministry) followed with the Opening Prayer. KWM Steward Sis. Peewee Sarte provided the Opening Remarks, introducing The Lord’s Flock Community and its mission to the forty (40) elderly residents in attendance.

Moreover, several residents wholeheartedly volunteered to share renditions of their favorite songs, further enhancing the joyful atmosphere. Also, the workers engaged with the residents in a spirit of compassion and sincere care – asking their names, home province, age, number of years with the facility and overall condition.
The Blessing of Food, led by Sis. Maxima Almodiel (Healing Ministry), followed. All workers, nursing affiliates, and especially the residents enjoyed generous servings of appetizing lugaw (porridge) with egg and puto (rice cake). KWM workers, together with other volunteers, took the lead in preparing the meals and assisting with food distribution, much to the delight of the elderly residents.

Thereafter, the Healing Ministry, led by Sis. Maxima Almodiel offered a healing prayer and conducted a healing session during which each ministry worker approached the residents to offer prayers and blessings.

To conclude the event and in heartfelt appreciation for the time and efforts of the KWM workers and volunteers, several elderly residents serenaded the group with a touching Thank‑You song and words of gratitude.
Finally, the outreach activity was carried out in an atmosphere of love, generosity, and compassion. The members, workers and volunteers answered the divine calling to offer their time and presence in humility, engaging with the residents with sincere affection and compassion. Acts of mercy and service – whether through sharing food, helping with the various tasks, or making time to ask how the residents are doing – manifested a strong sense of concern for the well‑being of every individual elderly in the event. Through the concerted efforts and a spirit of selfless giving of the KWM workers and donors, the outreach activity became a meaningful expression of genuine concern of those in need and in solidarity with the elderly in their twilight years – the true mission of a Christian and as a follower of Christ.
To God be the glory!
