The Europe Mission Team for 2024 was composed of The Lord’s Flock (TLF) Elder-Founder Techie “Soar” Techie Rodriguez, Co-founder Froilan Hong, Judith Almendrala (SERVE Head Steward), and Jess Advincula (SOWER Steward). They were joined by Joy Molina (LAS VEGAS Chapter Steward) at the Madrid airport. The Elder’s Mission is an annual activity of Soar to visit the international chapters and nourish the spiritual condition of the flock. In this Europe Mission, she and the team will visit the Chapters in Palma de Mallorca and Madrid. This Mission is extra special because in addition, they will be planting new Chapters in Bonn, Germany and Rome, and will be meeting with a Filipino parish priest in Paris to explore the opportunity for a Chapter there also.
The SEND-OFF in Quezon City
As has been the tradition, the mission team was given a send-off merienda and well- wishes from ExeCom members, several stewards and Soar’s armor bearers at her house in Project 6, Q.C. Little did they know that an important announcement was to be made that afternoon. Soar announced that in line with the Community’s leadership transition process, Michaela “Mik” R. Flores was appointed Head Servant effectively immediately, and shall manage the five-fold E.P.E.S.S. Ministries (Evangelize. Pastor. Equip. Serve. Send).
The send-off group also waited for the Mission team to check-in as they watched from the NAIA Terminal 3 waiting area. Soar did not lose the opportunity to thank them and treated everyone for dinner at Kentucky Fried Chicken, where she also gave the Execom last minute instructions.
The Flight from Manila to Palma de Mallorca
The trip to Spain was a grueling 27-hour flight, with stop-overs in Dubai for a connecting flight to Madrid, and a connecting flight to Palma de Mallorca. The hands of God worked early in their mission as Judith and Jess who were booked in the economy class, were upgraded to business class, where they happily joined Soar and Bro. Froi in enjoying the comfortable seating and the amenities. Joy Molina enthusiastically met them at the Madrid airport for the final flight to Palma de Mallorca, the first stop of the Europe Mission. Some TLF Madrid Chapter members took the brief opportunity to greet them before they had to rush to their flight.
Hola Palma de Mallorca!
Upon arrival at the Palma de Mallorca airport, several cheering and excited members of TLF Palma Chapter greeted them with “bienvenida” banners, flowers for the ladies and “sombreros” (Spanish hats) for the gentlemen. The Mission team’s heavy luggages were immediately hoisted to their vans and they proceeded to the “Gran Wok” Restaurant for a sumptuous buffet dinner. They delightfully chatted with Soar and the other group members. Finally, at almost midnight, they checked-in at Amic Hotel, their home for the next three days.
Indeed, after the long journey, the Europe Mission team was eager to start the series of activities with the Palma Chapter: Grow Series, Facing2024 and Retreat, and Spirit Empowerment Seminar.
