Grow Topic: ATM – Ask the Master
Last February 19, 2025, two days after Techie “Soar” Rodriguez arrived in Los Angeles, she gave her first Grow topic to the Lord Flock Los Angeles Chapter. Soar used the Apha way of sharing the good news, where members had fellowship over dinner first, listened to the teaching, and lastly, shared their lives and experiences that were aligned to the learning. The topic was ATM, which today is commonly known as “Automated Teller Machine” or “At The Moment.” However,
in her teaching, ATM meant “Ask The Master.”
- Soar started by asking the members whether they are too busy because of social media and whether they do not have time to pray, study the Word of God, and serve in the community. She reminded everyone to ask the Lord for the grace to be available so they can be honorable vessels of honor, ready to be used for God’s Kingdom. “In a large house there are vessels not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work” (2 Timothy 2:20-21).
- Soar challenged them to share the Word of God with neighbors in the Glendale area, with family, friends, and colleagues. She encouraged them to have the mind of Christ – to be humble and obedient (Philippians 2:5-8). Moreover, they must first empty themselves so they can be filled with the Holy Spirit.
After the beautiful teaching, the members of the community shared their takeaways: to become witnesses of their faith, to focus on God, instead of on material things, fame, and power, and to make the most of their lives because life on earth is temporary. They committed to be vessels of honor, ready to be used by God!
Praise & Worship: “TWO DIRECTIONS, TWO DESTINATIONS, TWO DECISIONS”
On February 21, 2025, Techie “Soar” Rodriguez and Judith Almendrala (Steward, Elder’s Outreach), attended the regular Friday Praise and Worship of LA Chapter. Soar shared the topic: “Life’s Questions: Only Two Directions, Only Two Destinations, Only Two Decisions.” In life, they make several decisions, big and small. Some choices are good, and others are bad.
- They must seek God’s wisdom through reading the word of God, to help them make good decisions. Knowing God’s word is vital because when trials and difficulties come, they can hold on to His words and apply it. In times of anxiety, Philippians 4:5-6 gives the assurance that “The Lord is near. Do not be worried about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
- There is a a choice to serve God or mammon. Mammon like money or material things leads them away from God. “What profits a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul” (Mark 8:34). There are three choices in life: to live life, to die, and where to spend eternity. They must choose to be God’s servants through the community.
- There is a choice to bless or curse others. “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences” (Proverbs 18:21). Everyone must be careful with their choice of words because these can bring blessing or curse. “I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees, and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess (Deuteronomy 30:15-16).
After the teaching, Soar prayed over the birthday celebrants, Evelyn Nuval and Jimmy Esplanda. She thanked God for their lives and for being blessings to the community. Some members asked Soar for prayers of healing and other personal requests. Lina Vargas gave a personal testimony and exhortation on giving.
Soar and the LA Chapter members ended the evening with fellowship and sharing of stories over a sumptuous dinner.
Truly, the LA Chapter felt blessed by the two meetings with the Soar and felt her warm pastoring and care for all of them.
To God be the glory!
