Day 1: Arrival and Welcome Gathering
Elder-Founder and Vision-Holder Techie “Soar” Rodriguez and her companion, Joy Molina, TLF Las Vegas Steward & Regional Coordinator for UK, arrived at London Gatwick Airport on May 22, 2025. They were welcomed with hugs and gifts by TLF Basingstoke Steward Mark Delos Reyes, his wife Abigail and daughter Avery Faith.
They drove to KFC for some food as it would take more than an hour to reach the hotel. Later that afternoon, Joey Molina, TLF Las Vegas Steward and Regional Coordinator for Europe chapters and his son, Albert Molina arrived at Heathrow International Airport. They were picked up and happily received by Mye Dela Cruz and her son Angelo, TLF Basingstoke members.
A welcome gathering hosted by Manny and Mimi Aquino, TLF Basingstoke members was given to the mission team. It was attended by excited leaders and members (with their families) who wanted to see the mission team; it had been years since they last saw them. Some were emotional when they saw their Elder leader “Soar.” Friendly conversations and precious memories were shared that evening.
Day 2: London Countryside
While in mission, Soar would rarely get a break from God’s work, so TLF Basingstoke Steward Dominic Garcia and member Mye Dela Cruz, (together with her children Louaira and Angelo), picked up the mission team to see the countryside of London.
They enjoyed driving for more than an hour passing narrow roads and green lushy hills. When they reached the city Cotswold, they walked and appreciated the famous small stone houses known for its beautiful gardens that were picture perfect.
The village did not serve food till 6pm, so the whole group had to drive to another place for late lunch. They came across a restaurant called the Bell Inn which has been in existence for more than 120 years. Almost everyone ordered “gosh and chips” a traditional dish eaten every Friday in these areas.
Soar met the TLF leaders from Birmingham, Winchester and Basingstoke chapters at a fellowship meeting in the evening hosted by Nicky Garcia, TLF Basingstoke Steward with his wife Analiza. She queried about each chapter’s conditions and concerns, gave encouragement and options for resolutions and shared testimonies of past events when the Lord guided her and performed unexpected miracles, similar to the situation they had been facing.
Moreover, Soar had a one-on-one consultation with the leaders. She also shared the current activities and future plans of the entire TLF community so that TLF UK leaders should move to the same direction as other global chapters. The evening was concluded with great food and pleasant/inspiring conversations among leaders boosting their confidence in leading their chapters and encouraging one another amidst frustrations and disappointments in their past experiences.
To God be the Glory!
