ELDER’S MISSION USA (PART 1A): WELCOME to LOS ANGELES FEBRUARY 17, 2025

“Whatever you do, do it for the glory of God.

(1 Corinthians 10:31)

Techie “Soar” Rodriguez, the elder-founder and vision-holder of The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community, along with Judith Almendrala (Mission Steward), landed safely at Tom Bradley International Airport in Los Angeles, California, USA, on Monday, February 17, 2025. They will be in the USA for a month-long mission, scheduled from February 17 to March 19, 2025, to conduct “FACING 2025” – a significant annual gathering of the community to honor the selfless contributions of the past year’s leaders and members, as well as to announce and consecrate the leaders and coordinators for 2025.

Bye for now, Manila

Soar and Judith were given a warm send-off early in the morning in Manila by “Tatay” Bobby Rodriguez (Elder-Founder) Froilan Hong (Co-Founder), Allan         Almendrala and Lea Tapispisan (Head Stewards of Mission and Service Ministries, respectively).  However, their flight was delayed for four hours due to an issue with the plane’s air conditioning system.

Hello Los Angeles

Mik R. Flores, the Head Servant of the community, had arranged transportation for Soar and Judith at the Los Angeles Airport which brough them to the residence of Soar’s sister, Marita Jones, in Burbank; she has graciously opened her home as the official residence for the duration of the USA mission.

Soar enjoyed catching up with Mik and her sisters Carmela, Marvin, Mary, and brother-in-law Dino over lunch at Porto’s Bakery, a renowned Cuban bakery famous for its delicious cakes, pastries, and savory treats.

In the evening, she met with the Los Angeles Chapter stewards, coordinators, and members who enthusiastically welcomed her with a bouquet of flowers. Over dinner, she shared insights on faith, trust, and stewardship; she also recounted personal testimonies, stories of planting communities, and inspiring accounts from members across different chapters. She encouraged everyone to remain steadfast, faithful, and dedicated in their ministry work, reminding them to serve others, spread the Word of God, and glorify Him in all things.

The Elder’s Mission Schedule

Sister Techie’s itinerary will be hectic as it includes visits to several Lord’s Flock chapters in the West Coast and the East Coast. The primary events, Facing 2025 for the East Coast Chapters will take place in the New Jersey Chapter on March 2, 2024, while  Facing 2025 for the West Coast Chapters will be held in Sacramento on March 8, 2025.

She will also present a series of Growth topics to the Los Angeles Chapter and conduct a Spirit Empowerment Seminar in Bakersfield. Additionally, she will participate in Praise and Worship events in the Sacramento, Dublin, and Daly City Chapters.

To God be the glory!
