On Sunday morning (8th September 2024), the Small World and New Gen groups held a fellowship at Chowking, Al Ghurair Mall, Deira. The event was graced by “Tatay” Bobby Rodriguez, the Elder-Founder of The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community, and the Mission Team members—Arch. Dinky Florentino (Execom), Te Florentino (Scribes Steward) and Mel Capistrano (Pastoral Leader). This special occasion enabled the children to come together with their “Lolo” Bob and honor him with a belated 80th birthday celebration.
The special guests from Manila were warmly welcomed into the restaurant by the lively buzz of the children’s excited voices and cheerful greetings from everyone. Denzyl John Destajo from the Small World started the event with an Opening Prayer. Anjenette Milante, New Gen Coordinator, followed with a heartfelt welcome.
One of the most eagerly awaited segments was the talent showcase, which highlighted the remarkable abilities of the Small World and New Gen members. The children mesmerized the audience with their diverse talents, including singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, and even performing gymnastics.
Everyone, including the Mission Team, enthusiastically participated in the traditional ‘perya’ games organized by the various TLF Dubai Ministries.
Following all the enjoyable activities, their “Lolo” Bob shared an inspiring message about the significance of embodying childlike qualities to enter the kingdom of God, as quoted from Matthew 18:3-4. His words deeply resonated with everyone, emphasizing the profound value of innocence and humility.
Te Florentino, along with the Mission Team members, invoked a blessing prayer for the children, recognizing them as the future leaders of the community.
As the program drew to a joyful close, Queenie Labial, Small World Coordinator, and Anjenette Milante delighted Tatay Bob with a birthday cake and a thoughtful gift. The room was filled with glee as everyone joined in singing a cheerful birthday song.
The event concluded with a closing prayer led by Queenie. The families then enjoyed the buffet lunch and fellowship with one another. It was truly a beautiful Sunday morning brimming with childlike joy and a vibrant showcase of talents.
To God be the glory!
