In celebration of its 10th Anniversary, The Lord’s Flock (TLF) UAE Chapter held its prayer meeting on 8 September, Friday, in St Mary’s Church, Oud Metha, Dubai (at the Bishop Paul Hinder Hall). TLF Elder-Founder Sis. Techie ‘Soar” Rodriguez and Co-founder Arch. Bro. Froilan Hong, along with the Mission Team Bro. Mel Capistrano and, Sis. Lea Tapispisan (TLF Pastor Head Steward) graced the event with their presence. Sis. Jennifer de Castro hosted the event, while Sis. Theresa De Jesus, led the Psalm and Koros Ministries with the opening praise and worship.
The venue was filled with one hundred thirty-six (136) attendees, including the active members, new invitees, and the “balik-flock.” Moreover, the prayer meeting was also held on zoom where twenty-one (21) participants joined from the other emirates in UAE, as well as from international chapters (New Jersey, Philippines, Qatar, and Canada).
Elder’s Teaching:
TLF Elder, Sister Techie delivered two special topics: “Being Too Busy to Pray” and “A Sympathetic Ear.” In the former, she encouraged all the attendees to have a daily quiet time in a private space, to establish a personal and intimate relationship with the Lord, and to honour Him with the first fruits of their time every day. She also reminded everyone that prayer is a two-way traffic: talk to God and be willing to listen to Him (Proverbs 3). For the second topic, she shared that someone with a sympathetic ear listens earnestly, looks eye-to-eye and answers accordingly. All the participants were fully engrossed in listening to Soar during the one-hour teaching.
Acknowledgements and Exhortation
After the teaching, participants from Abu Dhabi were welcomed and introduced to Soar. Thereafter, Bro. Mel Capistrano from Manila, gave an empowering exhortation about tithes and love offerings. Subsequently, the joyful contributors heeded the call.
The event ended with various announcements, including the official invitation for the next day’s event – The 10th Anniversary Thanksgiving Party with the theme, “GLOR10US JOURNEY, The Best is Yet to Come.” Sis Techie concluded the meeting with a powerful closing prayer and the usual jovial group picture-taking.
Everyone felt truly blessed by the Elder-Founder’s teachings and went home with smiles and happy hearts ignited by the Word of God.
To God be all the glory!
