The Stewards and Leaders of The Lord’s Flock UAE Chapter held “A Musical Night to Remember with Tatay Bob” last September 5, 2024. The event was held at the Hyatt Place, Rigga, Dubai. It was indeed a rare fellowship opportunity with “Tatay” Bobby Rodriguez, the Elder-Founder of The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community, to honor him with a belated 80th birthday celebration.
Psalm Ministry Coordinators, Ma. Theresa de Jesus and Cromwell Dahiroc graciously hosted the event. They warmly welcomed the Mission team which included Arch. Dinky (Execom) and Te Florentino (Scribes Steward), and Mel Capistrano (Pastoral Leader). Rem Sagarino (UAE Pastoral – Cana Coordinator) started with an opening prayer. It was followed by a sumptuous Filipino buffet dinner which everyone enjoyed while catching up and exchanging stories.
After dinner, Tatay Bob shared wonderful insights and encouragement on being a true servant of God. He quoted the Bible verse from Job 36:11 “If they obey and serve Him, they will spend their days in prosperity and their years in contentment.” He further testified that he received blessings, healing, and a changed heart as he obeyed and served God. He also motivated the leaders not to stop serving God because He sees, hears, and listens.
Dinky and Te Florentino also shared their journey in the TLF community. Their faith in God, admiration for our elders, and the community’s love are among the many reasons why have remained active and have continued to serve the Lord for the past decades.
Subsequently, the UAE Core Team presented their gifts and tokens of appreciation to Tatay Bob and the mission team who were very delighted and surprised. This was followed by an intermission song number from the leaders entitled “I Want To Say Thank You.” A series of musical numbers from “Glee” showcased their singing and dancing skills, as well as their infectious humor and wit.
To everyone’s amazement, Tatay Bob willingly sang a few songs from his favorite singers, Marco Sison, Michael Buble, and Frank Sinatra which made the crowd request for more!
The program ended with a surprise birthday honoring for Tatay Bob and Dinky as the group enthusiastically sang the Birthday Song and presented the birthday cake. Riemar Labial (Jebel Ali Chapter Steward) led the closing prayer.
Truly, it was a wonderful way to welcome Tatay Bob and the mission team for their four-day program of activities, the highlight of which will be the 11th anniversary celebration of TLF UAE.
