The visit of Elder-Founder, Sis Techie “Sor” Rodriguez to Sacramento sparked faith and hope back into the hearts of the members of the Sacramento Chapter, inducing the return of many members who had not attended the prayer meetings for many months/years. Her voice and presence in the prayer meeting brought a certain aura into the room, and reminded the Sacramento Chapter that there is hope in God’s Word, and peace in keeping one’s relationship with Him.
Sor’s Arrival
On the morning of October 21st, 2023, “Sor” arrived at the Sacramento International Airport, prepped and ready to bring God’s Word to The Lord’s Flock Sacramento Chapter once again. Many members from across Sacramento had heard she was arriving, and all were ecstatic to see her and hear her voice. These included members who have not been seen since before Covid. Sacramento’s prayer meeting had not been this lively in a long while, and Sacramento has Sor to thank for bringing these members back, and granting them the motivation to continue their relationship with God. The moment Sor stepped into the room, it lit up, and she was met with familiar and long-missed faces alike, as well as some new faces.
The Prayer Meeting
The prayer meeting consisted of an energetic session of Praise and Worship, a heartwarming and eye-opening talk from Sor, as well as one final song at the end. Sis Judith Almendrala (Mission Team) taught the whole Sacramento Chapter the finale song, “Praise” by Elevation, and its dance moves. The night ended with fellowship. By the end of the prayer meeting, none of the members wanted to leave, and this may be the latest closing that the Chapter has had in a long time.
Breakfast with Sor and Sor’s Departure
Even on the morning of Sor’s Departure, she was still teaching. The Santiago family picked up Sor and Sister Judith from the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel for a hearty breakfast at Panera Bread. However, it was more than a breakfast. Sor had things to teach and discuss. With the International Retreat fast approaching, she discussed the story of Timothy, and how it should be incorporated into the Chapter’s New Gen program. She also cited that his faith was greater than his circumstances with his family; conversely, there are consequences to not having faith.
With full hearts and full minds, Sor, Sister Judith, and the Santiago Family set out for the airport. Right before walking into the airport, she encouraged everyone present to keep on praying. Sor was teaching to the last second. This is the dedication of the Lord’s Flock’s Elder-Founder.
To God be the Glory!
