The indefatigable Elder-Founder of The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community, Sis Techie “Soar” Rodriguez, embarked on another Mission barely two weeks after her trip to the United Arab Emirates. She travelled to Hong Kong on Sept. 29 on a 5-day Mission to coincide with the long weekend of the Oct 1 National Holiday to maximize attendance of members and guests. Accompanying her were Froilan Hong (Co-Founder), Lea Tapispisan (Head Steward of Pastor Ministry), Mel Capistrano (Pastoral Leader) and Jo Advincula (Scribes Ministry). This is her second trip to Hong Kong this year to minister to the six (6) Chapters, commission the new batch from their August SES, and speak about “Experiencing God” and “The Four Basic Truths of the Divine Law.”
Notre Dame Parish, September 30, 2023
Coinciding with the mid-autumn festival, the first day was held at the Notre Dame Parish in Kowloon. Sis. Amelia and Sis Neneng picked up Soar and the team from the Park Hotel and accompanied them to the Notre Dame Parish. The Host Ministry led by and Sis Lorna and Sis Emelita (who welcomed them at the airport) enthusiastically welcomed Soar with flowers and a cuddly sheep toy (for her collection). All the six Chapters were present and eager to be reunited with Soar: Notre Dame, St. Alfred, Sts. Peter and Paul, St. Anthony, Choi Hung Saturday and Sunday. They were led by stewards, Christine Majhen, Susan Galon, Larie Diaz, Dolly Sanhez, Lourdes Tuzon, Mary Joy Noneza, Chelo Anog.
Susan Galon moderated the first day meeting and welcomed the big turn-out of 84 members and 12 guests, while Mel Palma led the Praise and Worship. Bro. Froilan gave the opening remarks and introduced the Mission Team, who each shared about God’s blessings to them especially when joining Soar’s Missions. Bro Froilan also updated the group about the various missions that have been conducted since Soar’s last visit to HK in January, 2023.
Upon being introduced, Soar was cheerfully welcomed with applause and greetings. Likewise, she expressed her happiness in being with them again and commended them for their close partnership with the parishes and their aggressive evangelization among the large Filipino community (approximately 120,000) in Hong Kong.
The afternoon session started with an energetic performance of the REKINDLE chant by all the chapters. Subsequently, Soar delivered her teaching “Experiencing God,” – God’s priority on earth is to have a personal relationship with each one of them (Jn 10:10).
The day ended with the celebration of Holy Eucharist, presided by Fr. Paul Vladimir, OMI (Notre Dame Parish).
The three long-time leaders, Cristine, Larie, and Susan, treated Soar, Bro.Froi and the mission team to a sumptuous dinner in Soar’s favorite Chinese restaurant. They had a close and personal exchange of stories with her. Soar expressed her satisfaction with their great efforts in conducting the first day of the Seminar.
To God be the glory!
