ELDER’S LOCAL OUTREACH – CEBU CHAPTER: FACING 2025 May 3-4, 2025

The Lord’s Flock (TLF) Elder-Founder and Vision-Holder Techie “Soar” Rodriguez held her first provincial outreach in TLF Cebu Chapter, highlighted by Facing 2025 and the Installation of Leaders.  Soar and Lea Tapispisan (Head Steward, MISSION Ministry) were warmly welcomed by Eric Alcantara and Ruel Yu (TLF stewards) and other members at the Mactan International Airport.  They were treated to a hearty lunch at Chika-an Resto before proceeding to Parklane International Hotel where they would stay for their two-day mission.  Soar and Lea later met with Jenelyn Sumo, Daryl Virtudez, and Jhona Rose Pugoy to discuss the program flow and script for Facing 2025.

May 3, 2025 (6 – 9 p.m.) – Saint Francis Xavier Room, Sacred Heart Center, Cebu City

The evening event initially comprised the following: anticipated mass; spirit-filled praise and worship by Chrismae Cuago and the Psalm Ministry; praise report; May birthday and wedding anniversary celebrators; and tithes and love offerings.

Daryl Virtudez, Coordinator and Moderator of the evening’s event, presented Soar’s Outreach Team: Lea Tapispisan, Renato Anyog (MISSION-Provincial Chapters Steward); and Maro Anyog (SERVICE-Renew Steward).  Daryl, filled with excitement, introduced Soar, who discussed “On the Road with Jesus.”  She explained that walking with Jesus entailed the following:

  • a choice (Deuteronomy 26:17, 30:19);
  • direction (Isaiah 55:59; Proverbs 16:9; Psalms 119:105)
  • to walk like Him (1 John 2:6)
  • to have a life of obedience (Mark 1:35)
  • to know Him
  • quality and quantity of time

After Soar’s inspiring talk, Daryl requested the new members and guests to stand to be welcomed by everyone.   Moreover, Dr. Josefa “Evan” Uy, a retired dentist, (whom Soar evangelized in Rome) was thrilled to meet Soar again.  Soar was later honored with a bouquet for gracing the night’s activity.  Indeed, it was an exciting and fruitful night for the TLF Cebu to have Soar as their speaker in its praise and worship event.

 May 4, 2025 (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.) – Rooftop, Yello Hotel, Lahug

Despite going home late on a rainy Saturday night, the leaders and members (TLF Cebu Chapter) arrived enthusiastically for the much-awaited event – Facing 2025.   As the assigned moderator, Maro Anyog extended her warm greetings to Soar, Lea, Rene and to all TLF leaders and members.   To start the day’s activity, the talented Psalm Ministry led the TLF Song, 10 Core Values Prayer, and praise and worship.  Next was the Parade of Banners by the 2024 Stewards and Coordinators, who had mixed feelings about what was in store for them that day. To officially open and welcome everyone, an Opening Remarks video by ‘Tatay” Bobby Rodriguez, Elder-Founder, was shown, followed by a video of “What is Facing?”

I.  APPRECIATION RITES

Stewards and Coordinators of 2024 were called to receive the Certificates of Appreciation from the Elders.   A video was played to show the silent workers and to acknowledge their unwavering support behind the scenes in all the TLF Cebu activities.  After that, Soar delivered a heartfelt message of thanks for their service in 2024.  In response to the award given by the Elders, Soar was also honored with a Certificate of Appreciation, tokens, and a bouquet (an expression of love and gratitude to Soar and Tatay Bob).

II.  WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE IN 2024

A video was initially shown highlighting the activities of the Cebu Chapter; another one showcased the entire Lord’s Flock Community activities.   These videos demonstrated the Lord’s awesome favors and blessings to the TLF Cebu Chapter and the entire Lord’s Flock Community in 2024.

III.  ANNUAL REPORT AND HERITAGE UPDATE

Soar presented the Community’s Financial Report for 2024.  Then, the Heritage update video was presented.  Soar exhorted everyone to participate in the 300 pillars to support the construction and completion of the Heritage.

IV.  FACING 2025

Similarly, Facing 2025 underscored the unveiling of this year’s theme: TRANSITION. Soar encouraged everyone to embrace change with faith, obedience, and trust.  She prayed for God’s continued presence and guidance for the community.  A video greeting from Mik Flores, Head Servant, added to the theme’s celebration.

The most awaited activity of announcing the leaders for 2025 followed.  Lea and Rene assisted Soar with the anointing and consecration rites. The community enthusiastically welcomed the appointments of the new officers and leaders, celebrating the fresh energy they would bring.  It was a day of revelation, honoring, and charging.  A surprise addition was the announcement of stewards for the newly formed community in Dita, Pulang Bato: Fe Arcilla & Susan Owatan, seasoned leaders of the TLF Cebu Chapter.  With lighted candles raised, the newly appointed leaders and members sang fervently the Servant Song as the ceremony ended.

The appointed leaders consisted of the following: Stewards: Eric Alcantara and Ruel Yu (TLF Cebu Chapter); Fe Arcilla and Susan Owatan (TLF Pulang Bato Chapter); Coordinators: Jo dela Fuente (Silver & Gold), Jessa Luna Fernandez (Psalm Ministry), Jenelyn Sumo (Media), Roland Olvida (Technical), Chrismae Cuago (Youth), Virgie Tan (Intercessory), Jhona Pugoy (Koros), and Daryl Virtudez (External Affairs and General Services).

The event concluded with congratulations exchanged among members, leaving the gathering with hearts full of joy, faith renewed, and looking forward to what the Lord will do for them in 2025.

To God be the Glory!
