A mass blood donation aptly titled “Dugo mo, Karugtong ng Buhay ko” was held in the Lord’s Flock Heritage Events Place on November 12, 2023. This noble project was spearheaded by the Saint Luke’s Ministry (composed of health professionals in the Community), led by Dr. Gilda Geronimo. This was a joint project in partnership with the Philippine Blood Center (PBC). The contribution to the blood bank is important to ensure a continuous supply of blood to help the sick, but also for members of the Community to have priority access to blood in the future.
The potential donors arrived and were filled with wishful and prayerful anticipation to donate for the good of others. They were subjected to physical examination and laboratory tests by the representatives of the PBC to ensure that their blood meets the screening criteria. Everyone in the room cheered whenever a donor passed the screening!
Thereafter, they had their blood extracted and were observed for a few minutes. The successful donors left with a sense of peace and well- being for being able to donate life-giving blood.
Everyone felt proud at the end of the day as it was proven once more that the Community is a caring and giving community. Kudos to the St. Luke’s Ministry for a truly worthwhile project.
