The Sarnia Chapter in Canada celebrated their first anniversary celebration last July 7, 2025 at the parish hall of St Benedict Catholic Church. The community stewards, Vergel and Jean Valentos, welcomed the forty-five (45) members and guests who joined the momentous occasion. It was a great day for the community as they reflected the success despite the challenges, with the Lord’s guidance along the way.
Humble Beginnings
The Valentos family, Bro Vergel and Sis Jean with their children Kenrick and Chase Lauren, migrated to Canada in Sept 2022. After a year (with the approval of the local parish), The Lord’s Flock community was established and was ably supported by Sis. Dhes Inong (Head Pastor Servant MENA & Africa) who provided solid spiritual insights for the community. The Valentos family was a long-time member of TLF Dubai.
To date, the community has attracted members who felt a sense of value and. belonginess. Some were lifelong Catholics who wanted to explore more about their faith. Hence, the TLF community provided a space (venue) where everyone can listen and reflect the word of God.
Committed Leaders and Supportive Community
The remarkable growth and impact of the TLF chapter have been attributed to the passion of the stewards and the mutual support of the community members. After their professional work, they would focus on their families and the ministry. Moreover, they have demonstrated their commitment through their parish support, thoughtful preparation of their meeting tent, and genuine care for every member.
Throughout their activity, the entire community’s commitment to prayer has become the spiritual backbone that supported every community’s milestone. Moreover, the power of united prayer and fellowship every Saturday meeting has aided their spiritual growth, has opened their hearts, and has increased their bond as a community.
The Anniversary Celebration
The first anniversary celebration became a powerful testament to God’s faithfulness and the community’s commitment. What began as a simple desire transformed into a blessed reality that gave light and salt to all those who seek the Lord and a loving community.
In addition, the celebration brought together members, parish leaders, and friends who had supported the ministry’s journey. The members were grateful for the passion of the leaders and the parish support. Everyone shared their testimonies of spiritual transformation.
Indeed, The Lord’s Flock chapter in Sarnia experienced the loving presence of the Lord and the continued support from one another. May the good Lord continue to bless and protect this growing community.
