SINGLES EMPOWERMENT SEMINAR May 12, 2024

The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community conducted the “Singles Empowerment Seminar” on May 12, 2024, at the Heritage Center Events Place.  The event was a gathering focused on spiritual growth and fellowship among young, single adults.

Jolo Baclig and Kish Lansangan (Pastor Ministry–Singles) welcomed all the participants and started with ice-breaker games to help make the participants comfortable with each other;  the “Human Bingo” encouraged the singles to connect with the other participants. After the fun introductions, they introduced the Psalm Ministry who led the praise and worship which centered on God’s love and salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Teachings

The main speaker, Elder-Founder Sis. Techie “Soar” Rodriguez welcomed the guests and discussed the “The Four Basic Truths about God.” She was followed by Architect Vernice Agoba who shared her experience about “God’s love.”

The second speaker, Fr. Eduardo Mayo, Order of the Friars, discussed the topic “God’s Salvation” which includes repentance and conversion.

An evangelistic play entitled “Everything” gave more emphasis to God’s love and salvation. An acceptance of the gifts of love and salvation leads to the desire to have a new life in Christ. And this experience of new life was exhorted by Jake Arizapa (Singles Steward).

Furthermore, Raymund Nobleza (Psalm Ministry Steward) expounded on the importance of receiving the Holy Spirit to pursue a new life in Christ.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Subsequently, Dr. Grace Anne Pancho (Head Steward of Evangelize Ministry) introduced the significant role of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowers people to perform greater things for God. She encouraged the participants to open their hearts so that they will receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Thereafter, she led the prayer session.

Some participants talked about their experiences:  one testified about feeling the spirit in their hearts, a few felt unexplainable tears, while others had feelings of relief and the willingness to surrender to God’s plan.  A female guest said that she felt lighter after the baptism rites – “like a new person who accepted Christ as the Way, the Truth and the Life, in going to the Father.”

Dr. Marie Barrientos-Regala (Assistant Head Steward, Pastor Ministry) shared her experiences on how to grow in faith. She discussed the 4 spokes of spiritual growth: Prayer, Study of the Word of God, Community and Service. This was emphasized by the evangelistic play, “The Chair.” Camille Lee (Singles Steward) shared her personal transformation and her service to God.  She concluded by saying that the Holy Spirit has the power to change everyone by accepting the Holy Spirit into their lives.

The eighty-five (85) attendees experienced spiritual awakening and renewal. The event ended with a mass (Feast of Ascension) by Fr.Ferdinand Alfante,SVD and a call to spread the message of service and transformation.

To God be the glory!
