Father’s Day Celebration | US-Canada Chapter

Father’s Day, a tribute to the fathers as the pillar of the family, is usually celebrated in June. This tradition showcases the great influence fathers have on their families. The Lord’s Flock Community (TLF), on their end, held a global celebration last June 19, Saturday. This event highlighted the community’s appreciation for fathers as the head of the family, a paragon of Christian faith and love.
The program was full of surprises dedicated to the fathers who were cheerfully greeted by Elder-Founder (TLF) Sis Techie “Soar” Rodriguez in her opening remarks. Soar described the fathers as leaders not only of their families but also models in forging relationships with God as the center of their family life. Bro. Froilan Hong, Executive Head Servant and the co-founder of the community, delivered an inspirational speech about St. Joseph’s exemplary traits, the foster father of Jesus and husband to Mary.
Moreover, one of the coordinators of the New Jersey (NJ) Chapter, Bro Danny Catbagan, shared his journey on how he led his family in serving God from generation to generation. He also narrated the trials that they encountered, building a Christ-centered family. He then shared his favorite bible verse that was also a reminder of his covenant with God: Joshua 24:15:15 But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
The small world together with the pre-teens offered a prayer and performed a Father’s Day special dance; the moms collected snapshots of their husband’s secret passion and turned it into a beautiful video montage. Raffle games were also prepared intended for fathers to enjoy.
Everyone was delighted with the look-alike challenge. Forty (40) brothers/ participants submitted their entries (father and child photo) which took a few hours for the committee to declare the winners: Bro. Nestor Ayuso with daughter Kara; Bro. Willy Campo with son JR both from New Jersey Chapter; and Bro. Vic with son Axel Fabros from Daly City.
To close the celebration, Tatay Bob, the community’s elder and father, gave his Father’s Day message to everyone. He first cited from Ephesians 6: 25-26: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word.” He then shared that to be a great father one must be an exemplary husband to lead the family with the word of God and to set good examples in molding their children.
Tatay Bob ended his message with a warm Father’s Day greeting and surprised everyone with a beautiful and touching rendition of Jose Mari Chan’s “It is the Lord!” The program ended with an honoring prayer dedicated to all the fathers that were led by Sis Nenette Catbagan, steward of the NJ Chapter.
Indeed, being a father is tough and an appreciation for being the pillar of the family must be celebrated! To all the Daddy, Papa, Tatay, Pops of The Lord’s Flock Community, Happy Happy Father’s Day! You are all doing great in shaping our lives.
