CHRISTMAS RALLY 2020 – TULOY NA TULOY PA RIN ANG PASKO!

By Sis. Angela Kyle Medallo (New Gen Ministry)

On December 6, 2020, amidst the global  pandemic , The Lord’s Flock local and international community  gathered through Zoom to celebrate the Christmas Rally to usher the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was a recreation of past festivities – only this time, held in the confines of the members’ residences – to attest that Christmas is unstoppable no matter what tribulation may come.

A pre-recorded video montage of the Elders, leaders and members singing “Tuloy na Tuloy Pa Rin ang Pasko” beautifully conveyed the theme of the celebration; indeed, there’s no stopping the season of love dedicated to Jesus Christ who loves us beyond measure.

Close to 800 participants tuned in to their gadgets and put on their festive face shields and headgears as they sat comfortably in their homes.

Different TLF chapters, both here and abroad, highlighted their talents and creativity to everyone’s delight. Everyone felt the Christmas vibe as they watched the pre-recorded videos; the Zoom meeting was filled with excited cheers.

As with other major events, the Christmas Rally started with a Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Jade Licuanan, Commissioner of the Archdiocesan Commission on Youth of the Archdiocese of Manila, followed by lively Praise and Worship to honor the presence of God.

Bro. Bobby Rodriguez, Founder and Elder, followed by Sis. Mik Flores, Executive Head Servant, gave their respective warm welcoming to the congregation. Sis. Techie Rodriguez, Founder, Elder and Vision-Holder, shared her own inspiring message and introduced the nostalgic video presentation of previous years’ celebration.

The main program was filled with outstanding video presentations recorded by the International Chapters, interspersed with throwback presentations of past Christmas Rally events. Las Vegas Chapter and Europe Chapters both presented Christmas songs medley to cheer up everyone. Los Angeles and New Jersey serenaded the audience with their respective joyous songs and dance interpretations. The Hong Kong Chapter highlighted Oriental culture with a Chinese Lantern dance. The audience went on a virtual tour of the City that Never Sleeps with members of the New York Chapter as tour guide. Sacramento Chapter presented a heartwarming video entitled “Star ng Pasko’. The UAE Chapter, not to be outdone by other International Chapters, showcased their own breathtaking version of “Panunuluyan”. The presentation, which was shot in the middle of the desert seemed authentic.

On the other hand, some of the throwback video presentations of past years’ Christmas Rally events included Welcoming of International Delegates, Les Miserables and Superheroes, all performed by the ExeCom, as well as New Generation’s take on the Broadway musical, “CATS”. Bro Alvin Murillo, meanwhile, performed brilliant magical illusions. Truly, the production “reruns” brought back warm and joyful memories of past celebrations before the pandemic.

This year’s celebration  is no exemption from raffle draws. Many fortunate members from all over the world won raffle prizes, putting huge smiles on their faces.

The performance of the first- time moderators from Small world – Mateo Nobleza, Rhona, Lim, Zahara Anyog, and Zachariah Flores – was indeed outstanding. They appeared witty and confident with their attractive Christmas-themed headgears.

Close to the end of the 5-hour event, sixteen members were awarded one thousand pesos each by Sis Techie for their colorful and creatively designed face shields and headgears.

This year’s Christmas Rally was truly one for the books; everyone felt the spirit of Christmas as they joined hands across the globe for the virtual celebration.
