Spirit Empowerment Seminar

Spirit Empowerment Seminar
Every person encounters different circumstances in life each day. Each varies in personality and life experiences, as well as perspective in life itself. It is factual that many among the people of today see life in a negative way. Even though people have what they want and the things they need, it is undeniable that they still would feel incomplete.
On the 9th and 10th day of February 2019, The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community conducted a Spirit Empowerment Seminar at the Heritage Sanctuary. It was filled with talks and sharings that aimed to enlighten and free everyone from their troubles. On the first day, there were 230 attendees who have heard about the topics entitled: “Experiencing the Power of Praise & Worship,” “Seven Ways to Praise the Lord,” “Experiencing the Power of the Holy Spirit,” “Experiencing the Power of God’s Love and Redemption,” and “Experiencing the Power of a Spirit-Filled Life.” The topics were delivered to introduce everyone to Praise & Worship and to make them all understand and know who the Lord is truly. These are topics that help people reflect on what they actually experience, but pay less attention to most of the time. These are also topics that make people learn about having a spirit-filled life.
In the whole program, there were groupings held that let the attendees share their thoughts about what they have learned from what were taught to them during the talks, and about their experiences in the past that made them feel God’s presence and love. Thus, these groupings helped them realize things about their lives and themselves; letting them appreciate the blessings they have actually received; and, the presence of the Lord in their lives.
The transition from clueless beings to understanding ones was apparent as the attendees learned how to truly praise and worship the Lord and expressed words of wisdom.
On the second day of the seminar, attendees learned more about the spirit in them and the Holy Spirit that guides us. It was a day for more understanding. Indeed, the seminar gave them hope to know Jesus personally and intimately as these souls accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. After the Baptism, testimonies on experiencing the manifestations of the Holy Spirit like fire, water, wind, uncontrollable tears and vision were shared by the participants. There was also a simple but sweet momentum for the couples present. The husbands kissed and gave their wives some flowers. It was a day and night of learning, accepting and forgiving. They all surrendered their burdens to the Lord and put themselves in comfort with the love of the Holy Spirit in them.
Before heading home, everyone first experienced the highlight of the seminar which is the Holy Eucharist. Participants received Christ with more understanding as they were all already empowered by the Holy Spirit.
This two-day seminar is a great experience for everyone. Many people witnessed this life-changing encounter with the Lord. People may feel incomplete and cannot find what would fill them in with the things that the world gives us, not even from where we expect it to come from; but maybe it is because it is actually God who can make us whole.
“May God Himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together–spirit, soul, and body–and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (MSG)
