Christmas Rally 2018
On December 2, 2018, the Sunday morning breeze in The Lord’s Flock (TLF) Heritage was full of excitement for all the members as they prepared for the annual Christmas Rally. I arrived just in time to start the day off with Christmas songs in praise of our beloved Lord. Arms high and voices raised, the TLF Community began December in the most special way.
The morning program was already full of fun for everyone as we had our “Christmas Rapper” contest. Members from different ministries came to show their talents. But there was one group that stood out, “Evolution”. A group of members from the New Generation had created a very heartfelt rap song about how God’s light had illuminated their lives. And their efforts did not disappoint, for they ended up winning the competition later on!
After lunch, the air was filled with a buzz of excitement and nervousness as performers prepared for the main event. With the theme “PASKO Noon at Now”, the Members had prepared dances from all generations. There were the traditional folk dances, followed by the new and modern renditions. From candles to flashlights, benches to monoblock chairs, coconuts to fast arms… The performers took turns, showing old and new in the most beautiful way. In the end was a performance that showcased both old and new. Smiles were plastered all over the faces of the people in The Lord’s Flock. The day ended with a rain of blessings from the raffle draw.
Christmas is considered the most beautiful time of the year to most, and why would not they? Christmas is a time for love, joy, giving, and most of all, it is the day we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. 2018 may not have been the best year, but this Christmas Season, we are all filled with hope for a better year in 2019.
Once again, I was filled with that familiar Christmas feeling… Everyone coming together as one to celebrate and rejoice in an even more special way, lights up a spark with me that is unexplainable but amazing.
Merry Christmas everyone! God bless your hearts 💕
